In August of 2016, Jill Scott was the center of attention at the ESSENCE Music Festival when the audience was immediately captivated by her new slimmer self. While many were left wondering whether or not she lost weight, the truth is that she really did lose weight, by about 63 pounds.

Jill Scott weight loss was a result of the birth of her son in 2009. She said that “There’s a world of discovery in his eyes, and I want to be around to enjoy it.”

Jill Scott knew that she had to make these changes in her life. “I’d walk up nine steps and be out of breath!”

These days, while her weight is down to 200lbs, she plans to continue on with her daily routine. When asked how her son Jett can join in on her daily routine, she said she would bring him along for biking. “We have fun!”

When asked about the secret to her weight loss, she revealed that it was mainly attributed to her diverse exercise routine, which consists of boxing and biking plus the strict diet plans. It has not only helped her shed the weight but also provide a lot of fun for her while exercising. “We have fun!” She said, explaining to US Weekly in regards to her daily workout sessions with her trainer.

Jill explained that keeping the whole process as fun as possible is the biggest reason why her workout succeeded for two years. She also attributed it to the fact that after she became a mom, she decided to take her health into her own hands and made it a priority, saying that, “There’s a world of discovery in my son’s eyes, and I want to be around to enjoy it!”

And while Jill Scott weight loss transformation has made her happier, she is still left with a body that she is very proud of. She still loves the curvier aspects of her body, which a lot of her fans would praise her for. It’s because of this that she promised that “I’ll never be a stick figure.”

Eating three low-fat meals every day and doing 60-minute cardio or weight lifting has been a great contributor to her weight loss goal. According to her trainer Scott Parker, has been doing three of these training sessions a week.
