And he's more than proud to show them off while vacationing with his wife Quinn Lundberg in Venice. The two married back in 2012, who then had their first child in 2013.
At 46 years of age, star of Hangover fame lost a significant amount of weight in recent months after he decided to quit drinking back in 2014. He has also starred in Baskets, where he plays as a rodeo clown from Bakersfield. But, what’s the secret behind the Zach Galifianakis Weight Loss transformation?
Zach Galifianakis weight loss first started in 2013 when he decided to stop drinking and go on a healthier diet, and going on walks more often. And ever since then, he has lost a significant amount of weight which gave way to the new and thinner Zach of today. Many saw his new and improved self when he attended the Birdman premiere in New York City in 2014, and again at the 2015 SAG Awards.
Many asked themselves, "How did he do it?"
At an episode of the Conan O' Brien show, he told him that “I stopped drinking and I just kind of put the weight off … I was having a lot of vodka with sausage … delicious but bad for you. I was getting into too much trouble with the drinking, so I just kind of stopped.”
Zach Galifianakis also joked about it when he spoke with WGN's Dean Richards about his weight loss. "I lost about 30 ounces. Nah, I started walking a bunch and gave up booze. Booze, I was done with it. I couldn’t wake up like usual, so I stopped. "
He also added that "I'm lucky that I could just stop, but boy I miss. But being light’s fun! I can go up two flights of steps now and only need my inhaler twice!"
In addition to his new TV comedy, Galifianakis also appeared in the new comedy movie entitled Tulip Fever and Keeping Up With the Joneses. He has also provided the voice for the character of Joker in the Lego Batman Film. Galifianakis has also made a previous appearance in TV shows such as Tru Calling and Bored to Death. He stated that his reason for returning to acting in TV roles was that it was a chance for him to do a different kind of comedy.
He explained his move to The Los Angeles Times that, "The movie comedy business is a little bit one-note right now. It would be hard to do something like Baskets in a movie. I think a lot of Wall Street guys started getting involved in the movie business, to be honest. TV somehow filled the void."
According to sources in January, Galifianakis has vowed to continue to stay healthy, and that "People are really proud of him." It was estimated that he lost as much between 50-60 pounds around the time he was promoting his new film Birdman. And since then, he has continued to lose weight, as the Zach Galifianakis weight loss journey continues.
